Europeana Collections

Η Europeana ή Ευρωπαϊκή Ψηφιακή Βιβλιοθήκη άνοιξε τις πύλες της στο κοινό στις 20 Νοεμβρίου 2008. 

Η ευρωπαϊκή ψηφιακή βιβλιοθήκη δίνει πρόσβαση σε δύο εκατομμύρια βιβλία, χάρτες, ηχογραφήσεις, φωτογραφίες, αρχειακά έγγραφα, πίνακες και ταινίες, υλικά προερχόμενα από εθνικές βιβλιοθήκες και πολιτιστικά ιδρύματα των 27 κρατών μελών της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης. Η e-βιβλιοθήκη, είναι διαθέσιμη και στα ελληνικά, προσφέρει πρόσβαση σε δύο εκατομμύρια ψηφιοποιημένα βιβλία και άλλα έργα της ευρωπαϊκής πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς, με την προοπτική να είχε φτάσει τα δέκα εκατομμύρια έως το 2010.
